 ADULT BOOK STUDY

Tuesday April 27th & May 4th

6:30pm – 7:30pm at the Parsonage

We have been studying; Prayer is Good Medicine by Larry Dossey, M.D.  Dr. Dossey believes in using prayer as a compliment to modern medicine, not a replacement for it.  Even if you missed the first sessions, you are welcome to join us.  Please contact Mary L. Johnson at 603-239-4819 if you have any questions regarding the book study.

Tweens / PreTweens:

We will be meeting today, from 2:30pm – 4:30pm.

Weather permitting, we will be working in the garden behind the parsonage, doing some general clean up and making garden stones. If it is raining, we will meet in the Fellowship Hall and work on creating our garden stones.

    NOTE FROM THE SECRETARY:

Deadline for all JUNE Newsletter Articles is MAY 21st.  All newsletter articles may be dropped off at the church office Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am & Noon, or e-mailed to the church office at unitedchurchofwinchester@myfairpoint.net.  Due to time constraints, the deadline will not be extended.

In an attempt to save on postage expenses we have been e-mailing the newsletter to those members who have e-mail.  However, we still have approximately 116 newsletters that are mailed to folks at an average cost of .66 cents per mailing, which amounts to a total expense of $76.56 each month or $918.72 annually (providing postage doesn’t increase).   As you may recall, the cost for newsletter mailings was not made part of the operating budget for 2010.  Donations are gratefully accepted to help defer the cost of these mailings.

Deadline for Sunday Bulletin & Weekly Window articles is every Tuesday by Noon.

All prayer concerns and/or articles may be dropped off at the church office Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00am & Noon, or e-mailed to unitedchurchofwinchester@myfairpoint.net.  Due to time constraints, the deadline will not be extended.

Have a publication / announcement where the church office is listed as the main contact?   Please ensure that the Pastor and Administrative Assistant have all the necessary information on hand prior to the announcement being made to the public.   Thanks

LADIES SOCIETY SUMMER SALE

Volunteers Needed!

The Ladies Society summer sale is fast approaching and they are in need of a “General Coordinator” as well as some Younger folks to help with the heavy lifting and setup/cleanup of sale items.

Jackie Taylor, due to her recent surgery is unable to do any heavy lifting.  She needs someone to step up to the plate and take over this responsibility, which consists of coordinating table setup/location, assisting in unloading boxes for the sale as well as repacking any items that are not sold.   They could also use folks to help work the sale as well.

Setup begins on Friday, May 28th - Church Sexton will setup tables in the fellowship hall and transport all boxes of sale items from storage to the hall.  Those ladies setting up inside will need assistance lifting boxes and unloading sale items onto tables or moving tables around.

Saturday, May 29th beginning at 8:00am we will need volunteers to unload the boxes for rummage sale and put items on tables setup outside.  Sale begins at 9:00am and runs until 2:00pm. At 2:00pm we will need volunteers to pack up any items that did not sell so that our Church Sexton can pick them up and put the boxes back in storage.

If rain is in the forecast for the day of the sale, then everything will be setup in the fellowship hall (same as holiday fair) and could be done on Friday.  If you have any questions regarding this event or are willing to volunteer (even a few hours), please give Jackie Taylor a call at 603-239-4284.
