The United Church of Winchester is a multi-denominational Church community situated in the heart of downtown Winchester New Hampshire. The United Church of Winchester was founded in 1736 and is the oldest organized church in Cheshire County. The UCW finds its roots in the Congregational Church, the Methodist Church and the Unitarian Universalist Church which formally joined as the Federated Church in 1931. This led to merging as the United Church of Winchester in 1976.
Througout its long history in Winchester, the United Church has been a vital force in town. We host a variety of community groups that meet in our Fellowship Hall ranging from Brownies to Alcoholics Anonymous. There are groups for children of all ages and activities that vary from trick or treat for UNICEF to post-Katrina rebuilding work in New Orleans. Our Ladies' Society provides scholarship assitance, mission funds and fellowship opportunities.
